This month, millions of Florida high school students will get to
enjoy summer break.Three months without school, however, doesn’t
have to mean only part-time jobs and days at the beach.There is
exciting new (and old) research that shows high school students can
take up one simple activity that will help them as students—and as
people: studying music.Ft. Lauderdale guitar teacher Dyce Kimura is

TheClassicalStation.org announces today a “Back to Baroque” Weekend, May 19-20, 2012. Music Director William Woltz programs a weekend which highlights the language of music that came to be defined as the music we know today.
“The music is at once powerful, yet beautiful,” says Woltz. “It has remained a part of our lives thanks to the efforts of Mendelssohn, Mozart, Schumann and Beethoven.”

80-year-old Swedish-Japanese pianist Fuzjko Hemming will perform
piano solo concerts, starting July 5, at such renowned venues as
Walt Disney Concert Hall (Los Angeles) and Alice Tully Hall,
Lincoln Center (New York). Despite her severe hearing difficulties
and turbulent life, Fuzjko has beaten the odds to become a highly
