Nominations Now Open for International Film Festival Summit Excellence Awards and Audience Choice Awards

The International Film Festival Summit announced today that nominations are now open for their two annual award programs to be given out at this years Summit taking place December 6-8, 2009 in Las Vegas

New York, NY October 1, 2009 -- The International Film Festival Summit announced today that nominations are now open for their two annual award programs to be given out at this years Summit taking place December 6-8, 2009 in Las Vegas.

The two award programs for 2009 are the Excellence Awards and the Audience Choice Awards, and the deadline for submissions is November 10th, 2009.

For the third consecutive year, the IFFS Excellence Awards will honor and pay tribute to the dedicated professionals and executives managing film festivals. Festivals continue to provide a vital intersection where the major stakeholders in the entertainment industry converge. For decades the tireless work of the film festival professional has made monumental impacts on the industry for individual filmmakers, buyers, sellers, and countless organizations involved in entertainment.

After outstanding feedback last year, the Audience Choice Award will again be presenting two different awards, the Image Award and the Livre d'Or. The Image Award will be presented to the best festival movie poster, while the Livre d'Or Award will be given to the best festival program booklet. All finalists will be featured and displayed in the Festival Gallery onsite at the summit in Las Vegas. Attendees at this year's conference will have the opportunity to vote for each award, which will be presented at a reception and ceremony during the summit.

2008 winners included Keith Weckstein, Director of Ticketing, Tribeca Film Festival; Mark Fishkin, Founder & Executive Director, California Film Institute; Trevor Groth, Artistic Director, CineVegas Film Festival; Gabe Wardell, Executive Director, Atlanta Film Festival; Joanne Fienberg, Director of Programming, Ashland Independent Film Festival; and Lee Ann Kim, Founder & Executive Director, San Diego Asian Film Festival.

This year another exemplary group of individuals will be nominated and honored by their peers and an esteemed panel of judges. The awards will be announced and presented at a ceremony taking place during this year's IFFS in December.
