Kingston, New Jersey January 13, 2010 -- In keeping with its commitment to sustainable agriculture and food production, Eno Terra, a fine dining restaurant, is drawing attention to the issue of over-fishing of the world's oceans with a special screening of the award winning documentary, "End of the Line". The 2009 film has been widely praised for spotlighting the consequences of industrialized commercial fishing.
Eno Terra Restaurant, Kingston, NJ is 5 minutes North of Princeton University on Rte. 27.
In advance of the film’s February release on DVD, the producers actively sought out restaurants to screen a 20-minute version of the full-length documentary. By taking the film to where diners are, they hope to increase awareness of the issue and also let consumers know that responsible fishing is the best way to safeguard future seafood supplies for consumers and restaurants.
The world’s first major documentary about the devastating effect of overfishing premiered at Sundance Film Festival. Eno Terra is among restaurants world-wide that will be showing a shortened version of the film. “The days when people could just turn their eyes away from an environmental challenge are over,” says Carlo Momo, co-owner of Eno Terra. “Nature is under siege on too many fronts. We all need to do what we can to inform our neighbors and support responsible behavior.” The Central New Jersey restaurant's Executive Chef, Chris Albrecht, welcomes the public focus on responsible sourcing of the food he serves, “the better informed diners become – the faster we will see responsible policies up and down the supply line.”
Eno Terra Restaurant and Enoteca, located right off the Delaware and Raritan Canal in Kingston, NJ, opened in September, 2008. It is part of the Terra Momo Resturant Group and features locally raised grass fed beef. Committed to a farm to table philosophy, TMRG uses local farms, growers and suppliers as much as seasonal production allows. Eno Terra is Green Certified. Its historic ambiance and Italian influenced cuisine help win it glowing reviews, e.g., The New York Times -- and on sites like Opentable.com where patrons consistently rate it as 4-5 star restaurant.
