Salt Lake City May 5, 2010 -- Utah Genius (www.utahgenius.com), presented by Bateman IP Law Group and Utah CEO Magazine, today announced the winners of the 2010 Utah Genius Awards at the Little America Hotel in Salt Lake City. The keynote speaker was Doug Fabrizio, of KUER and host of RadioWest.
“Utah saw a record-breaking year in 2009 with 1,003 patents granted to people or companies in Utah—this was up from 889 in 2008,” said Randall B. Bateman, founder of Bateman IP Law Group. “The Utah Genius Awards honor the cities, people and organizations that have received large numbers of patents or trademarks as reported by the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Utah Genius was also honored to present the Lifetime Achievement Award to Sheri Dew, CEO of Deseret Book for Deseret Book’s ongoing commitment to promoting creativity in this state by providing a wide range of creative content.”
