Dr. Morris Pickens, Sports Psychologist helps guide Lucas Glover to 2009 U.S. Open through his "Learn To Win" system.
Bethpage, NY June 24, 2009 -- Lucas Glover, student of Dr. Morris Pickens, Sports Psychologist wins the 2009 U.S. Open held in Bethpage, New York. During a week that will best be remembered for its drenching rain, Lucas Glover used his unbelievable talent and the "Learn To Win" system created and taught by Dr. Morris Pickens to maintain his composure and display the patience of a true champion.
The drenching rain and the hurry up and wait schedule of play was a major obstacle for most of the players this week at the U.S. Open. During a week that most golf experts predicted a win for Tiger Woods or an emotional victory for New York Golf "Fan favorite" Phil Mickelson, most people were surprised by a stunning win by 29 year old Lucas Glover. One person not surprised by the win was Sports Psychologist Dr. Morris Pickens, known in the golf community as Dr. Mo. Dr. Mo said, "Having worked with Lucas since 2002, I knew that he had the pre game prep that allowed him to control his mind and emotions and let his talent take over. Many athletes have the talent to win, but allow their emotions to get in the way."

Many athletes have the talent to win, but allow their emotions to get in the way.Like all of my students, Lucas Glover and I have worked for years on how to choose success to reach his highest potential. This process starts with thinking more effectively regarding the challenges they face and then creating a more productive practice based on his strengths and weaknesses.Having worked with Lucas since his early days on the Nationwide Tour in 2002, it is especially gratifying to see a great guy and great student get rewarded with such a victory. I know that Lucas will be happy to share this victory with Dick Harmon (deceased) who taught him to play the game and Larry Penley, his coach at Clemson who honed his skills. Dr. Mo went on to say, "Like all of my students, Lucas Glover and I have worked for years on how to choose success to reach his highest potential. Lucas Glover and Dr. Mo are not the only people celebrating a 2009 U.S. Open victory. Swing Coach Mike Taylor and Trainer Randy Myers complete the team at Sea Island Georgia that work with Glover. Dr. Morris Pickens, "Dr. Mo", said, "Having worked with Lucas since his early days on the Nationwide Tour in 2002, it is especially gratifying to see a great guy and great student get rewarded with such a victory.
