On November 20th, there is an AMAZING event taking place in Pahoa, THE RAINBOW RAW GAMES (www.rainbowrawgames.org). This Hawaiian adventure for the whole family was created to raise awareness about the benefits of living a raw, organic lifestyle and is taking place at Kalani, a gorgeous retreat nestled amongst tropical jungles and the Pacific. The setting is Kalani, a renowned retreat nestled among tropical jungles and the Pacific Ocean. This lush location offers an amazing backdrop to the festivities, fun and sun that make up The Rainbow Raw Games!
This Hawaiian adventure for the whole family is the first event of its kind that hopes to raise awareness about the benefits of living a raw, organic lifestyle. Whether a hardcore athlete, dedicated health nut, raw food enthusiast or parent interested in a unique family vacation, The Rainbow Raw Games offers something for everyone!
The RRG were founded with the hope of creating a bridge between sports, wellness, raw food living, spiritual growth and personal empowerment, with a goal of welcoming everyone and a hope of sharing information on the raw lifestyle. This amazing event is designed to take you - as part of the ever growing world consciousness- to the next level of strength, athletic skill, individual awareness, cultural outreach and community appreciation.
Competitive events include a Tropical Triathlon, Raw Strength Competition, Greg Cipes Surf Contest, The Kalani Adventure Race, Sprinting, Sand Castle building and even a Raw Food Prep Off (featuring Raw Vegan chefs!).

HAWAIIAN CELEBRATION
The RRG are also meant to be a celebration of ancient Hawaiian customs and will feature a variety of cultural festivities including The Rainbow Raw Games Traditional Makahiki Festival, considered to be the Hawaiian New Year. The traditions will be guided by Kapuna (revered elders) and celebrated with food, music and timeless games of balance, strength, and wit, enjoyed by all ages, examples include, Spear Throwing (O o ihe), Plunging With Greatest Splash (Lele Pahu), A Race By Turning Cartwheels (Ho okaka), A Board Game Similar To Checkers (Konane) and Coconut tree climbing.
There will also be luaus and demonstrations of Hawaiian crafts; learn how to make Lei's and traditional clothing. See how coconut cream is made and of course get a fresh taste. Learn how chocolate comes from trees and nibble on some of the world's best raw chocolate. Learn how to Hula and witness the "Royal Court Dancers" of Pu uhonu oHonaunau and enjoy traditional and modern Hawaiian music by local favorites and more well-known performers.

Rainbow Raw Games is a non-profit organization. Proceeds from the games will go towards two island charities, Hulau Hula Ka Makani Hali Ala O Puna and Native Puna District Charter School.
