Pinpoint Labs Releases Safecopy 2 Nomad Edition - Now SafeCopy Goes Where You Go

Each day, corporate IT managers, computer forensic examiners, and litigation support professionals are tasked with collecting relevant files which reside in file shares, on client systems, and other popular data sources. Pinpoint Labs has released SafeCopy 2 Nomad Edition (SC2NE) which alleviates several common problems encountered when using alternative copy utilities to collect client files. When users need a SafeCopy license for a new project, Nomad can be downloaded to the collection drive and sent out to the client. Once the job is finished, Nomad can be reactivated for future projects. Never before has advanced electronic discovery file collection been so easy!

Murray, NE December 13, 2008 -- Pinpoint Labs, a forensics software developer and litigation support firm, today announced the release of the latest addition to its SafeCopy family of forensic software - SafeCopy 2 Nomad Edition. This new version is completely portable, making it the perfect choice for distributing to clients for one time or short term projects. Since there are no USB drives or software to track or return, it is the most hassle-free way to collect and preserve electronic discovery files.

SafeCopy 2 Nomad (SC2NE) lives up to its name as it can be downloaded and transferred to external hard drives, flash drives, or desktop computers, providing a temporary SC2NE license. When the project is finished, Nomad can be deactivated and installed again on another drive. Now SC2NE users can easily perform collections across the street or across the world.

The goal of any electronic discovery collection is to preserve and collect files while keeping the chain of custody intact. In keeping with best practices for preserving and collecting data, Pinpoint Labs designed SC2NE to easily gather files with minimal impact on client systems.

As President of Pinpoint Labs and Certified Computer Examiner (CCE) Jon Rowe noted, "When users need a SafeCopy license for a new project, Nomad can be downloaded to the collection drive and sent out to the client. Once the job is finished, Nomad can be reactivated for future projects. Never before has advanced electronic discovery file collection been so easy!"
