BGT judges turn away Roman soldier

The Britain's Got Talent judges gave the thumbs down to one would-be star when he turned up on stage dressed as a Roman soldier.

The 57-year-old retired HGV driver, who told the panel he was called Maximus, was the first act on stage at the Manchester audition and recited a scene from the hit Russell Crowe film Gladiator.

However he did not impress show supremo Simon Cowell who said it was a "horrible, horrible start" to the new series which begins tonight.

Actor Tennant adopts wife"s son

David Tennant has revealed he is now officially a father of two after adopting his wife Georgia Moffett's son.

The former Doctor Who star told Christian O'Connell on his Absolute Radio breakfast show this morning that he adopted 10-year-old Tyler shortly after the birth of his daughter, Olive.

Tennant said: "My baby is almost a year old and I adopted my wife's boy last year as well so I became a father twice in six months - that's got to be something of a record, hasn't it?"

DJ Fox takes home lucky pup Bonzo

DJ Neil Fox has given one "loveable little mutt" from London a new home.

Foxy and his family rehomed Shih Tzu/Jack Russell cross puppy Bonzo after visiting the Battersea Dogs And Cats Home last week.

Bonzo arrived at the charity centre in February after his owners felt they could no longer care for him.

Luckily for the dog, Neil, his wife and their three children, Scarlet, 10, Jack, nine, and five-year-old Martha, fell in love with Bonzo straight away.

Hollywood ex-wives to tell all

Eddie Murphy's ex-wife is among those signed up to star in new US reality TV series Hollywood Exes.

The Shrek star's ex Nicole Murphy, who he divorced in 2006 and with whom he has five children, will tell her story in the new VH1 show.

The series will air this summer, and also features the ex-wives of Prince, R. Kelly, Will Smith and Jose Canseco.

The network said Nicole Murphy, Jessica Canseco, Andrea Kelly, Will's ex Sheree Fletcher and Prince's ex Mayte Garcia "want to show the world that they are more than just a trophy wife with a pretty face."

Oscar-winner Octavia"s home honour

Oscar-winning actress Octavia Spencer has been honoured at the Alabama Statehouse, where about 400 people turned out to welcome her back to her hometown.

Octavia won this year's best supporting actress Oscar for her performance as a maid in The Help.

She rode up to the Statehouse in a pink limousine for the ceremony. As she stepped out, she was serenaded by the band from her old school.

Octavia told the crowd that she would do whatever she could to see that more movies are made in Alabama.
